The Oxford Dictionary states the definition for the word
Compassion to mean "pity inclining one to be merciful." In James 5:11 the Word declares "The Lord is full of compassion and mercy." Many times we read in the gospels that Jesus was moved with compassion and then healed the people and met their need. Jesus Himself says in Luke 4:19 that one of the things that He came to do was "To preach the acceptable year of the Lord." The Amplified versions says it this way: "To proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord [the day when
salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound]." This is a message of mercy and acceptance from a Loving and Almighty God! There are 365 days in a year. 365 chances to receive, walk in, and profusely abound in the salvation and the free favors of God! All because of the Love of God and what Jesus did.
I encourage you to read Psalms 103 and Luke 4:18-19 and then praise God for His mercy and Love that He has poured out upon you! May you profusely abound in the good things that God has for you in this New Year!
